Ferrite Core

ferrite core is a  magnetic core made of ferrite (ceramic compounds ) material. It used for windings of inductors as well as electric transformers. Ferrite core have high magnetic permeability coupled with low electrical conductivity, because of low losses at high frequencies, they are highly used in the cores of RF transformers and inductors.

There are several types of ferrite core are available like blocks( blocks core are generally used where  mechanical restraints require), EE&EF ( EE&EF cores are especially suitable for power transformers and filters), EFD (Economical Flat Design-Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) transformer), EMC-Electromagnetic compatibility (commonly used for suppression include beads, baluns, toroids, tubes and flat ribbon cable suppressors), EP-(used for for broadband, small power transformers and signal transmission), ETD-Economical Transformer Design (for Power Transformer cores, SMPS), Ferrite toroids ( used for pulse transformers, delay lines, RF coils, RF suppression, converter transformers, wideband and broadband transformers, impedance-matching transformers, common mode chokes, and current transformers), Flake Iron Powder (used in RFI suppression, SMPS energy storage chokes, differential mode chokes, DC output chokes, motor speed controllers and other Triacs and thyristor controlled circuits such as light dimmers), Planar ( mainly for Switched Mode Power Supplies-SMPS), Pot Cores, RF ( mainy used for  transmitters and receivers), RM-Rectangular modular (for SMPS, Current Transformers, Pulse Transformers, Energy Storage Chokes and fly-backs), Rods & Long Tubes and U Cores ( for  transformers in the frequency range from 10 to 500kHz,  line transformers producing an electron deflection beam for CRT’s).
